Happy New Year!

I don't know about you all, but I'm really excited about starting a new year. I have a feeling 2014 is going to be my best year yet!!!

1. Do you plan to change any of your eating habits in the new year?
Since before my surgery on April 10th I have already made some major changes in my eating habits. Since I am so close to my weight goal I have started adding in more calories, up sized my portions a bit and am eating more often so that I can slow down my weight loss. Once I hit my goal I want to maintain it.

2. Any workout tips to get us back in shape after the holidays?
My main focus is cardio with a little strengthening workouts added in. I'm going to be adding more weightlifting this year and really really start working on sculpting my legs and thighs (they are my biggest concern

3. What is your favorite thing you did over the holidays?
Lots on family time with James and the kids.

4. What is something you hope that you accomplish in 2014 that you did not in 2013?
Right now I am aiming to hit my (NEW) goal weight of 117 lbs by June. I know it's not an impossible goal so I'm just going to keep going with the flow and I know I can achieve it. My 2nd goal is to go back to school to earn my CNA licence. I really would like to work at the hospital.

5. Name 3 things happening this year you are excited about and why.
I really don't have an answer for this one. I don't know anything that is GOING to happen this year particular other than me reaching my goal weight, hoping to plan and schedule my full body lift for next year. I'm happy my hubby is turning 30 this year so I can pick on him about getting older..lol

Next week's questions

They are going back to the beginning and letting everyone introduce themselves and their blogs! It's a fun way to get to know more bloggers and meet new friends!

**PAST POST** Just like dynamite he blows me away

Back again for my weekly link up with the ever enjoyableMonday Listicles hosted by

The weeks topic "10 reasons my partner is awesome" was one of the easiest for me. I could truly go on and on about the wonderful person he is and the things he does for me and others but the list is limited to 10 so I'll just blurb some out.

10 REASONS WHY MY HUBBY IS THE BOMB!

1. I'll just start this list off with the most obvious. His physical features rawrrr :). You know the old saying that there is someone out there for everybody. Well I honestly believe James was the one that was made just for me. He is every physical characteristic of a man that I love!! From his strawberry blonde hair and amazing hypnotic green eyes to his perfect height and Popeye muscle bulging arms. After 10 wonderful years he can still give me butterflies.

2. He is my bestest friend in the whole wide world.

3. His inner child- He is so fun to be around. His mind is always racing with ways to improve and/or make things fun. for example: He built a city in the back yard with my youngest using bricks for the skyscrapers, mortar for the roads, and a bridge out of Popsicle sticks. It was truly amazing to look at and he did it all for my son to play with his hot wheels. He and my daughter build a dollhouse from scratch with working lights and carpeted floors. That project got started all because she mentioned that she would like to have a dollhouse.

4. He has helped turn so many of my dreams into reality. Weather it's something as small as always wanting to own a boxer to something a huge as becoming a stronger person from the inside out he has been there to help in any way possible. I can also add to the list that he is the one that made my trip to India for the Gastric Bypass Surgery possible.

5. When I go into hysterics as if the world has ended he's calm as a cucumber and ready to take charge of the situation.

6. He is not a cheater!! Any man that doesn't cheat gets major props in my book. In this day in age there are more and more unfaithful partners and I'm so lucky to have one that is totally against being unfaithful.

7. He supports all my hair brained ideas.

8. Breakfast in bed and it's not even my birthday.

9. He may not be the father but he is an AWESOME dad to my children.

10. He is an extremely hard worker and he does it not for recognition but because that's just the man that he is.

**PAST POST** MONDAY LISTICLES

Linking up with Stasha at The good life

for Monday Listicles. It's a different
topic every week - follow along and join in

This week's subject is 10 Firsts

1. First music video:
I remember the day we got Mtv at our house. It was something I had never seen before and after watching my first video that I still remember to this day. I was forever hooked on the hair bands and rock ballads.

poison-Unskinny Bop

2. My first car:
I didn't really get to enjoy my first car. I paid $500 for a 70 powder blue Mercury cougar when I was 16 and it's transmission blew out as it was being brought to my house.

this is almost what it looked like.

My first car that I bought and was able to drive was a blue 86 Plymouth horizon

It definitely wasn't my dream car but I loved the freedom that came with it and I of course had my stickers all over the back glass of the bands I loved.

3. My first child:
I gave birth to my first son on July 9th 1998. He was 2 weeks over due and labor lasted 48 long and painful hours but it was one of the greatest moments of my life. The pain was only temporary but the experience will be something I will remember my whole life.

4. My first Job:
I got my first job on my 16th birthday. I was to begin working at Southern Hosiery. I made $5.25 an hour folding socks in the finishing department after school.

5. My first concert:
It was yet another greatest experience I will never forget. Again I was 16 and I went with 3 great friends to see Pantera, sepultura, and Prong

Sepultura

6. First tattoo:
well My very first tattoo was a poor choice. it was done by a friend with a needle and Indian ink. It was the word LEO with the L and O made to look like eyes and it had fangs under it like a lion. I now have that covered up so I can't show a picture of what it looked like.

7. First Award:
I won first place in an art contest when I was in second grade and my picture was displayed at the art museum here in town.

8. First real trip out of state:
My first real trip out of state wasn't a planned one. My husbands brother and family were survivors of Hurricane Katrina. He and I made the trip down there to find them when communication wasn't even possible. The sights and sounds of unimaginable sadness added with the oh so real smell of death every where is yet another memory never to be forgotten. It was a long shot and we traveled on a wing and a prayer but long story short we found them.

9. First movie that really scared me:
I remember being at my cousin Candy's birthday party. Most of the adults were inside watching a movie and every time I went in they shooo'ed me back out so being a young curious child I hid and watched with them. I found out later the name of the movie was FACES OF DEATH and to this day I can still remember the people taking out that poor monkeys brain and eating it...EAKKKK!! Such a crazy but real movie.

10. First broken heart:
Was the day my grandfather passed away. He was the most positive male role model in my life. My parents separated and divorced when I was small and my grandfather took his place in my heart and in my eyes. He passed away on his birthday July 15th 1994 when I was 16.

1. Favorite childhood book:

I remember reading and rereading these two books many many times as a child and then reading them to my children because I liked them so much

I actually saw the movie before reading the book. I did love the movie and as always both had different parts but I will say I did enjoy the book more.

3. Book you wish you could live in:

Most books I enjoy reading are true crime or horror. I don't think that I would want to live in any of them unless I were someone not involved in the crimes. But if I had to choose one I guess maybe I would choose to live in the book the green mile.

4. If you could be any character from a book who would it be and why?

I would like to be Clarice Starling in the Silence of the Lambs because I have always dreamed of being a detective and she was one tough and intelligent gal.

**PAST POST** 8 FEARS

Linking up again with the 10 day YOU challenge with Lauren. I started a bit late on top of being quite a few days late with my entry so I'm only on my 3rd installment and so here are my 8 FEARS.
1.
My biggest fear is that my children will grow up thinking I could have done more for them. It's a silly fear I know but it has always haunted me. I myself always strive to be a better mother than the one who raised me.
2.
I've lost so many loved ones that meant a lot to me and the pain was so hard. I pray that I never have to bury either of my children or my husband. If I could have my way I would choose to go first.
3.
I have always been a heavy girl and my weight has gone up and down but my fear is that I will become so obese that I won't be able to get it back down.
4.
I play many roles in my house and sometimes fear that if I were to ever become injured or hospitalized that the house or my family won't be taken care of.
5.
Since my wonderful hubby works some nights I stay up and sort of guard the house because I'm afraid that if I sleep someone could possibly break in.
6.
I know this one is crazy but all too true. I will scream like a girl and run away if I get milk on my skin. I've been that way as long as I can remember. I've never been able to drink it because I'm allergic. but it will turn my stomach if it gets one me.
7.
I have a fear that one day my vehicle may break down leaving me stranded and helpless. The world is not as nice a place as it used to be and I have seen way to many horror movies.
and lastly
8.
This one is not actually a fear for me but is none the less a fear. I have a younger brother that lives a very reckless life. Right now he is in prison set to be released in 2015. Every since he started living this way I have had the fear that he was either going to end up overdosing or was going to be killed for some of the poor choices he has made. So I guess my real fear it that he is never going to change and eventually will end up being robbed of living any like of full or happy life.
